Chapter 1

Leafkit, Lavakit, and Oakkit bundled around the nursery. The kits were one moon old and the youngest in the nursery. "No! I'm leader!" Lavakit squeaked, pushing Oakkit down. "My camp!" Oakkit winced in pain. She tried to hide it, but she was bleeding. "Help!" Oakkit squeaked. "Flowerheart!" Flowerheart came rushing by, eyes wide with terror. "My kit!" Fireleaf, the medicine cat, raced into the nursery with many different herbs in his jaws. "Leafkit, would you like to help me?" "Yes!" Leafkit replied excitedly. "Oakkit will be fine." Fireleaf said. "She just got scratched on that rock." "Rock?" Flowerleaf replied in surprise. "Lavakit!, I told you not to bring sharp rocks in the nursery!" "But mother!" Lavakit replied, "I need to guard my territory! And Oakkit is a wimp anyway!" "No I'm not!" Oakkit replied as Leafkit and Fireleaf were putting herbs on her wound. "Lavakit!" Said Flowerheart. "Tommorow i will ask Willowstar if you can help the apprentices with the elders, like checking their ticks. Now no more playing territory!" Lavakit stormed off, leaving his sisters to face their mother. "Leafkit, what were you doing during all this? "I was checking our moss and seeing if their was any herbs that Fireleaf could use." Leafkit replied. "All i saw was Lavakit push Oakkit down." "What in the name of Starclan?" Petalkit, Stonekit, and Marshkit appeared at the nursery entrance. "Is everything..alright?" Petalkit, Stonekit, and Marshkit were one moon older than Lavakit, Oakkit, and Leafkit, and the older trio thought they knew everything. "Ugh." Flowerheart replied, just the usual. Lavakit getting someone hurt.
